Harley Coleman- Guitar teacher

Harley Coleman is a guitarist and composer based in Sydney, Australia. He currently is studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the guidance of leading Australian and other International Jazz and Improvising musicians. 

Originally from Port Macquarie on NSW’s Mid North Coast, Harley’s main introduction to creative music was through the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music’s jazz program. He toured as a member of their flagship jazz orchestra to the US in 2018,  during which Harley won a medal for Outstanding Musicianship at the Reno International Jazz Festival. During this time he was also one of two regional students involved with John Morrison’s “AIM Studio Youth Orchestra”, performing at Manly Jazz Festival, as well as Jazz Workshop Australia’s “Advanced Big Band” at Jazz Camp in 2018.
Since moving to Sydney he has been involved in many groups, including performances at NIMA Newcastle and the SIMA Womens Jazz Festival, as well as a weekly residency as part of the house band of Sydney CBD bar “The Swinging Cat”- who were featured in Sydney Timeout Magazine in 2021. 

In 2020, he joined a new project focused on original music named “Sandcastles”who recorded their debut album “Where you Came From” to be released in late 2021. The record features two of Harleys original compositions.
